Daily AcreetionOS Update -- October 19, 2026

October 19, 2026

AcreetionOS-Xlibre just landed fresh updates as the project keeps refining its own X.Org fork instead of chasing upstream surprises.

Development The XLibre tree received two rounds of updates this week, tightening the display stack that sits under Cinnamon on every AcreetionOS ISO. Meanwhile the immutable variant fixed a release workflow that was choking on YAML block-scalar indentation — gh release create now runs with -R so the job publishes artifacts without a full checkout, shaving minutes off each build. The main repo also added explicit shellcheck steps to CI and re-triggered the GitLab mirror after a deploy-key hiccup.

Community Discord regulars spotted the Linux 7.3 kernel drop and started testing it against the current ISO; early reports show the usual smooth ride on newer AMD GPUs. The project's GitLab instance at gitlab.acreetionos.org is humming again after the mirror sync — Darren (cobra3282000) and Natalie (natalie) both have active project spaces there if you want to watch merge requests land in real time.

Tip of the day If you're building a custom ISO from the acreetionos-immutable tooling, set SHELLCHECK_OPTS=-e SC2034 in your environment to silence the unused-variable noise from the Calamares module templates — keeps the lint log readable without losing real warnings.
