Daily AcreetionOS Update -- October 11, 2026

October 11, 2026

The CI workflow for acreetionos-immutable is green again after fixing a block‑scalar indentation error in release.yml that had been blocking automated releases. This quick patch restores the ability to cut new ISO images without manual intervention, keeping the release pipeline smooth for the team.

Development The fix was committed by Darren (cobra3282000) and followed shortly by a tweak that passes the -R flag to gh release create, eliminating the need for a checkout step in the release job. Together these changes mean that the acreetionos-immutable repository now builds and publishes releases faster and with fewer points of failure. If you want to see the exact changes, browse the recent commits on the changelog page.

Community Outside the repo, the broader Linux world handed us two stable kernels to play with: 7.2.10 and 6.18.56, both announced on LWN this week. Meanwhile Python 3.15 landed, bringing performance tweaks and new syntax that will soon appear in our AcreetionOS-Xlibre updates. Keep an eye on the wiki for notes on testing these versions in your own setups.

Tip of the day When you’re experimenting with a local build, run the release workflow manually from the GitLab CI UI to validate that the -R flag works as expected; this catches any missing dependencies before you push a tag. For a full walkthrough of our release process, the docs site has a step‑by‑step guide that mirrors what just got fixed in acreetionos-immutable. Happy hacking, and enjoy the new kernels!
