Community News
AcreetionOS is proud to announce that our community has been actively contributing to the project's growth and development. We've seen a surge in new commits, issues, and pull requests on our GitLab instance. Our community's dedication to making AcreetionOS the best it can be is truly inspiring.
Practical Tip
Did you know that you can easily install AcreetionOS on a USB drive using our AcreetionMediaWriter tool? This allows you to try out our distribution without modifying your existing system. Simply download the tool from our website, follow the instructions, and you'll have AcreetionOS up and running on your USB drive in no time.
Recent Development Activity
The most interesting development this week is the addition of a new feature to our Calamares installer. Cobra3282000 has made significant changes to the installer, including forcing Wayland as the default desktop environment and installing lightdm-slick-greeter to fix display manager job crashes. This update will provide a smoother user experience for those using AcreetionOS.
Other notable developments:
- Security updates have been issued by AlmaLinux for various packages, including bind, firefox, and kernel.
- Natalie has made significant contributions to the project, including configuring Secret Detection in our GitLab CI/CD pipeline.
- Cobra3282000 has also made several commits to the project, including fixing geocode-glib update conflicts and making changes to the Calamares config.
