Daily AcreetionOS Update -- September 17, 2026

September 17, 2026

AcreetionOS CI now publishes ISOs automatically after every successful build, removing the manual step that used to delay releases by hours.

Development The CI pipeline rewrite deployed yesterday means our build servers now push signed ISOs straight to the download page the moment tests pass. Darren Clift handled the GitLab runner configuration and kernel packaging scripts, while Natalie coordinated the signing infrastructure and automated checksum generation. The first fully automated ISO — version 1.0.24-beta — hit the mirrors this morning and is already being picked up by mirrors worldwide.

Community This week's community spotlight goes to a Reddit user who documented their full migration from SteamOS to AcreetionOS, praising our Cinnamon implementation and the lack of telemetry. Darren and Natalie both replied in the thread, answering questions about hardware compatibility and directing folks to the wiki's installation guide. We've also added three new contributors to the translation effort, with Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese builds now in testing.

Tip of the day If you're flashing a new ISO and the installer hangs on the partitioning screen, try disabling fast boot in your BIOS and enabling AHCI mode for your storage controller. The fix is documented in our troubleshooting guide at https://acreetionos.org/wiki.html#install-troubleshooting, and it saves everyone from a support ticket.
