Daily AcreetionOS Update -- September 08, 2026

AcreetionOS-Xlibre just shipped its first release with Firefox and uBlock Origin bundled, closing a long-running gap in the XLibre-based desktop image.

Development Natalie pushed the missing firefox-ublock-origin package into the AcreetionOS-Xlibre build this week, then immediately merged the fix geocode-glib update conflict that had been blocking the release-1 branch. Darren's CI work is also paying dividends: the acreetionos-immutable repo got a pair of release pipeline fixes, passing -R to gh release create and correcting a YAML indentation bug that was silently breaking workflow validation. All commits are now syncing cleanly to the GitLab mirror after a deploy key re-trigger fixed intermittent push failures. Community Upstream Linux had its own Monday rush — Greg Kroah-Hartman cut stable kernels 7.2.4, 6.12.52, and 6.6.104, and Buildroot shipped 2026.08 with the usual round of updated packages and toolchain fixes. Both land in AcreetionOS mirrors within the week, so users on the bleeding edge can grab the latest without touching mainline repos.

Tip of the day If your AcreetionOS-Xlibre install boots but the Firefox window looks pixelated on HiDPI, set the integer scale factor manually: open about:config and toggle layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 2.0 for a crisp 2x UI.
