Breaking News: Grml 2026.09 Released
We're excited to announce that Grml 2026.09, code-named "Hä", has been released. This new version brings with it a range of updates and improvements, including security patches and bug fixes. As a community-driven distribution, we're always keeping an eye on the latest developments in the Linux world, and Grml is one of our favorite projects. You can read more about the changes in the Grml changelog.
Community News
- Our community has been busy with a range of projects, including the bash2bat conversion script, which is now live on our GitLab instance. This script helps to convert bash scripts to bat files, making it easier for users to work with our distribution.
- We've also seen some great work on our infrastructure, with the addition of Secret Detection in `.gitlab-ci.yml` and SAST (Static Application Security Testing) in `.gitlab-ci.yml`. These features help to keep our code secure and up-to-date.
Practical Tip: Customizing Your AcreetionOS Experience
Did you know that you can customize your AcreetionOS experience to suit your needs? One way to do this is by modifying the calamares-config file. This file controls the settings for our Calamares installer, and you can use it to change things like the default graphics mode. For example, if you prefer to use 1080p instead of native 4k on boot, you can add the following line to your calamares-config file: prefer_1080p=true. This will change the default graphics mode to 1080p on boot. To do this, simply edit the calamares-config file in your AcreetionOS installation and add the line. Then, save the file and reboot your system. You'll see the change take effect on the next boot.
That's all for this week's newsletter. As always, we're grateful for the hard work and dedication of our community members, and we're excited to see what the future holds for AcreetionOS.
